Going Rogue & Chasing Shadows

I stalk a number of weird and wonderful bloggers out there, quite shamelessly I might add. Whilst their blogs provide endless hours of laugh-out-loud entertainment value, it does make me wallow in self-pity at my own clinical, sanitised and generally abysmal attempt at entertainment, and I wonder what the heck those kindly folks could possibly see in me.

So today I am going rogue, all in the pursuit of some dark, cool, funky ambience which might not be readily identifiable as my style. That is because – wait for it – I’m a closet karaoke singer… Luxuriating in delusions of grandeur, I spent my first twenty years prowling the night scene and prancing around in drunken dens. Recently I returned to where it all started, chasing nothing but the shadows of my dreams.

I love karaoke too! I really enjoy your writing style. You are a wonderful writer! I also envy comical writers. I’ve always wanted to write satirical work, but alas, it’s not my forté.

Omg, actually, forget walking! I don’t like walking (as stress relief) nearly as much as singing my guts out. Thanks Rachel for the support. I wear many hats, maybe it’s the Gemini in me, never knowing which suits most. When I saw how some bloggers are so dead fan serious with their LOL work it’s quite inspirational…

I’m a big fan of karaoke.
Back in NYC it was always part of pre party, pre gamers on Friday nights (or Saturday or any other night we decided to go out). When I moved to Spain I couldn’t find a karaoke bar, but one weird night, during a wedding, I spotted a bar next door, it said “karaoke”.
I had to check it out, the place was dark, it had a pole in the middle of the dancing floor, that also served as the stage for the karaoke and it had a supermarket cart (important to the story). I went back to the wedding and mentioned it to the people at the table, one the food was over we moved the wedding to the bar. Long story short, I learned how to go all the up that pole and slide down without breaking any bone and ended riding in the supermarket cart all around the bar, collecting tips after every performance.
    My closet passion?
    Karaoke pole dance.

Haha thanks for sharing. Pole dancing is no mean feat, I would probably either crack my skull (or vomit from dizziness)… Sounds like you have also found a backup profession! 😁

It’s always good to have an alternative, I hope I look as good as this rabbit

Haha I didn’t know you can embed images in comments. Thanks for that cute rabbit! I’m sure you are an awesome performer. 👍👍

Thanks. Yours is a very unusual (but probably addictive) one. 😜
